Flowers
Sheep lake had a variety of wildflowers…

So where do they get the names for these places in the mountains? Like Sheep Lake? Does the lake look like a sheep?
Or maybe there are sheep around the lake? (This is probably a goat, not a sheep)
Anyway, I really wanted to get a good picture of Mount Rainier at sunrise.
Although it looks pretty good later in the morning too…
But at least I made a friend…
This hike was short and recommended for children, so I thought I would take a few hours to check it out. It turns out the road is washed out, so instead of 5 miles round trip it is about 10. But it is still a cool hike.
On the last day, we went out fishing for huge halibut. We actually were using salmon heads for bait. Of course we didn’t catch one. Then it was time to go. We waited for de-plane, which then broke down, and then sent this other plane to drop off a mechanic, and then the other plane eventually came back and took us out.
This has to bee the coolest photo of the trip. As the plane accelerated, fog formed along the tip of the propeller. To my naked eye, it just looked like a tube of light fog which quickly disappeared off my window. But with a very fast frame rate, it looks like a spiral of denser fog.
Also note that propeller was straight when it was sitting still, but in this picture it looks like it is curved forward toward the tip. That doesn’t make any sense to me.
On the way out, this nice boater make a little circle in the calm waters which looked really cool from our plane.
The next day we went fishing for bottom fish… and caught some cool looking fish…
We even kept some of them, along with a few salmon.
There was often a boat tied to the ship with garbage bags in it. It turns out, they incinerated the garbage in this little thing.
There were lots of fish caught by all on the trip, and they kept track of them on this board so that we could look at them all.
Someone also pointed out that these two mountains were the knees of the "Kano Lady." In this picture she is wearing a somewhat revealing shroud of fog…
And finally, I couldn’t take enough pictures of the cool reflections off the smooth water.
The first thing that most fisherman need is coffee. And on a boat with 45 fishermen, you needs lots of coffee…
The you can go outside and look at the sunrise.
which looks different from different angles.
Later in the day, if you aren’t paying much attention to the fishing, you might spend some time trying to photograph an eagle.
